The country is working hard to take care of its citizens and provide them with basic rights at all levels exerting the maximum effort to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people. The construction of modern societies requires us to build interest in the scientific community and that education is one of the most fundamental pillars. Private medical education is one of the pillars of modern civilization and it took great interest in its country; that is working to upgrade and promote all its divisions and branches. 

As Physical Therapy is considered a leader in the field of health care disciplines and plays an important role in maintaining the health of the individual and raising the efficiency of job performance, as well as maintaining the integrity of the community role was the need to establish a college of Physical Therapy at  Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) at 6th of October City to achieve a quantum leap in medical education and meet the needs of the state health care sectors and based on the fact that the achievement of these goals is not just about government institutions effort.

College goals are achieved through providing the highest levels of education for specialists in the field of physiotherapy and qualified scientifically and practically the latest academic programs and teaching methods in light of an integrated study system based on credit hours, which gives the freedom for students to choose some courses that fit their interests and serve the various disciplines in the field of physical therapy and rehabilitation.

We are proud that we are among the sons of this great scientific edifice, which dates back to 1998. This is the scientific edifice that progresses and grows day after day. The college seeks excellence and leadership in this field by providing pioneering and advanced curricula that are concerned with studying modern techniques in the field of physical therapy. The college also provides practical and clinical training for students to help them gain practical experience in the field of their future profession, and all this is thanks to the permanent and continuous support of the university administration and the efforts of the best professors who assumed responsibility and fulfilled their duties completely.

Program of Study 

The College’s study system is based on a credit hour structure with two 15-week semesters per year and an 8-week summer semester. To obtain a bachelor’s degree, a total of 203 credit hours over eleven semesters (five years) is required, followed by a 12-month internship in teaching hospitals.

Clinical Training (Internship): Students must complete 192-200 hours per month for twelve months in various medical specialties, including:

  • Two months in Orthopedics
  • Two months in Neurology
  • Two months in Pediatrics
  • Two months in Cardiopulmonary and Geriatrics
  • One month in Surgery
  • One month in Gynecology and Obstetrics
  • Two optional months

A minimum score of 60% is required to pass any course, with a 30% threshold on final exams. Credit hours are defined as follows: 1 hour of theory, 2 hours of practical work, and 3 hours of clinical practice. Elective courses may also be offered in the summer or other semesters with faculty approval.

Quality Assurance Unit

Misr University for Science and Technology established the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Centre as an independent entity under the university president’s authority, per decision No. 9 on September 18, 2007. Each college also has a quality assurance unit that reports to the centre.

The Quality Assurance Unit at the College of Physical Therapy was created by Faculty Council Decree No. 86 on May 20, 2009, in line with Article 44 of the Universities Organizing Law No. 49 of 1972. This unit is part of the faculty’s structure and operates under the Quality Assurance Centre.

Its primary goal is to assess academic, administrative, and community performance to enhance education, research, and community service, aiming for accreditation based on national academic standards set by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education.
