Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center
Introduction
The center for Innovation and entrepreneurship (IE HUB) helps academics, researchers, and entrepreneurs to pursue innovative ideas and solutions, develop prototypes and advances to commercialization. The IE Hub serves the university vision for developing innovative and creative graduates capable of bridging challenges with creative approaches. In addition, the university provides communal and environmental services as well as outstanding applied research that can support economic and social transformations and achieve sustainable development.
Hence, each college is to include a unit for innovation and entrepreneurship affiliated to the center so as to establish within all the members of our esteemed university a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship to become a way of life within our university community starting from the university administration, deans of faculties, faculty members to students who are the nucleus and a fundamental pillar of the development of our society. Hence, keeping pace with economic development and the era of digitization and sustainable development in the light of Egypt’s strategic plan 20/30 as well as the mission of Misr University for Science and Technology is to become a part of the system of internationally distinguished universities and their competitive roles through continuous development processes.

Entrepreneurship Development Program
Creativity and entrepreneurship are the key elements for building effective and competitive economic systems. Therefore, the Center prepares an entrepreneurship development program for university students and graduates to establish the concept of innovation among students during their university studies and is considered the best choice for those who seek to become entrepreneurs in the future.
Artificial Intelligence Technology Center
Artificial Intelligence Technology Center (AITC) is located at Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST), Egypt. AITC aims at unleashing the potential of artificial intelligence in education, research and community services. AITC encompasses 6 units for conducting application-oriented research to support the transformation of MUST into a Smart Campus. It will also incubate selected spin-off projects initiated by the university faculty members, TAs and students. AITC also trains talented community members in starting their applications of artificial intelligence.
Student experimental factory (SEF-MUST) is a fully equipped pilot scale production facility oriented to research improvement and community services established in January 2020. SEF-provides opportunities to MUST students for training, learning, and application in an actual simulation of an industrial atmosphere with the processes and procedures that take place in the manufacturing world.
SEF-MUST also supports researchers and entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for developing new cosmetics.
SEF-MUST Startups
SEF-MUST offered a professional training postgraduate diploma for graduates with innovative ideas for developing new cosmeceuticals. After completing the program, best projects teams were hosted as startups in the facility, where they can use the factory facilities and equipment for their manufacturing process till starting up their own cosmetics companies and registering their products at the Ministry of Health. During the pandemic period and due to the shortness in sanitizers and disinfectants SEF-MUST team aligned with pharmacy staff produced essential disinfectants and sanitizers that supported the need of the university hospitals, quarantine centers and community.
MUST Creativity
Creativity and entrepreneurship are the key elements for building effective and competitive economic systems. MUST Innovation
Launching a competition for university students, in order to discover the best graduation projects annually and at the level of scientific sectors and colleges. The purpose of this competition is to discover innovative young talents and ideas and connect them to the IT industry, the medical and industrial sector and encourage students to develop new solutions that go along with the current technological trends.
Invitation distinguished ideas to be presented before a committee of judges according to the conditions set to receive a sum of money to market the idea, office space, cloud computing services and access to potential investors.
Providing the service of individual consulting sessions for startups in many different commercial, technical, medical and industrial fields such as: financial management, digital marketing, sales, business development, marketing, intellectual property or legal affairs. This service is a set of advisory sessions (fully supported) to support startups to succeed in the market.
- Dr. Suad Kafafi’s Annual Competition for Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship
The Center organized its first annual competition for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship” on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of Misr University of Science and Technology, entitled: “Dr. Suad Kafafi’s Annual Competition for Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship” from September 16th to 29th, 2021. The application for the competition, its conditions and the participation form were announced throughout the university and in the faculties, through the official website, the official e-mail of the Center and social media; and the results for the presented projects were announced on September 30th, 2021, upon which the awards were distributed on October 10th, 2021.
- Participation in the tenth “Ibdaa” Festival of the Ministry of Youth and Sports
The Center participated in the “Ibdaa” Festival of the tenth season 2021-2022 of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; in the following areas of competition:
(Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things and its applications – Engineering Innovations, Electric Cars and Three-Dimensional Printers – Entrepreneurship), where the Center participated in three projects: “Smart Ambulance Emergency Application System”, “Designing a Smartphone App to Help Blind People Use the Things They Deal With”, and “Smart Phone Application”.
- Establishment of the Arab Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
A center emanating from the Arab Council for Training and Student Creativity of the Union of Arab Universities, located at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, was established at Misr University for Science and Technology under the title “Arab Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. It follows the internal regulations of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University, under the patronage of the Union of Arab Universities and under its umbrella following its policies and future vision in order to maximize the benefit in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship to meet the challenges and achieve a prosperous future for graduates.
