About College

The College of Special Education at Misr University for Science and Technology, established in 2014, is the first of its kind in Egypt, the Arab world, and the Middle East, offering a unique model for preparing teachers and specialists to work in the field of special education.

The scientific degree granted by the College of Special Education has been equated with the scientific degrees granted by the faculties of Special Education in Egyptian universities, according to the decision of the Supreme Council of Universities No. (9) dated 30/1/2019.

The college’s programs have been developed per the standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) in the special education sector and the standards of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) in the United States.

College Departments

Our mission is to prepare teachers to educate students with special needs within the frame of national and international standards. We aim to provide applied scientific research to solve the educational problems of students with special needs.

We strive to prepare teachers to deal with students with special needs. The college also aims to be a leader in research related to students with disabilities. The college has a respective reputation at national, regional, and international levels.

  1. Equipping students with cognitive skills and experiences to become qualified, specialized teachers for students with special needs.
  2. Enhancing professional standards in special education through workshops Providing educational and scientific consultations to organizations focused on children with special needs.
  3. Promoting research and scientific studies in special education to enhance education techniques for children with special needs.
  4. Developing programs and educational plans for individuals and groups with special needs to facilitate the education process.
  5. Collaborating with national and international organizations and experts in Egypt in the field of special education.

In recognition of the significance of people with special needs and their role in advanced societies, the Egyptian state has prioritized this distinguished group in all its development plans. 

Consequently, it has become imperative for educational institutions in Egypt to work towards providing qualified graduates who can facilitate communication and interaction with people with special needs, ensuring their integration into society, and enabling them to utilize their unique abilities and creative potential.

The College of Special Education offers ideal laboratories for the development of students, including:

  1.  Educational Psychology Lab.
  2. Resource Room for the students with special needs.
  3. E-Learning Technology Lab.

Program of Study 

The student is required to complete 140 credit hours in any department to graduate and earn the bachelor’s degree successfully.
