About College

The University has taken the lead in contributing to the creation of a well-qualified ‘global’ pharmacist furnished with the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the demands within all branches of the pharmaceutical industry and practice.

The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Manufacturing has met the national standards, as it has been accredited by the National Authority (NAQAA) for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education by Resolution No. 192 of 26/8/2019.

Program of Study 

The student is required to complete successfully a minimum of Pharm D: 181 hours/Pharm D Clinical: 182 

credit hours for graduation.

Prof. Dr. Rehab Abdelmonem

She is a Professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy, Dean of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Manufacturing at Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) in Giza, Egypt and Adjunct Professor at Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and health Sciences at the University of Pacific, USA, from Jan 2020 till present.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Manufacturing at MUST in 2005. She obtained her PhD in Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Cairo University in collaboration with Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Department of Pharmaceutics and Medicinal Chemistry at the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California, USA, in 2013. She is also a reviewer of many international journals and a member of AAPS. 

In addition, she has teaching experience since 2005 and professional experience as a supervisor of researchers and postgraduate students in various fields of pharmaceutics, biotechnology, dentistry, and industrial pharmacy. Furthermore, she serves as a consultant in the Research and Development (R&D) departments of several pharmaceutical and food companies. Moreover, she was an executive manager in ICPS MUST in 2018 with several contributions by attending, submitting posters and organizing many international conferences and as Conference President of ICPS-2.

Mohamed Abdelmonem Mohamed Ibrahim

Class of 2005, Dr. Ibrahim is a Senior research scientist I, Chemical Development, Process Chemistry at Curia Global, Albany, NY, USA. 

Dr. Ibrahim leads a group of professional PhD/ master/ bachelor chemists responsible for conducting chemical development programs. Before industry, he held research scientist/ assistant professor of organic and medicinal chemistry at prestigious universities like the University of Florida and Northeastern University in the USA and Almaarefa Colleges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ibrahim and his team advanced several drug candidates to the USA market. 

Islam Ahmed Khalil

Islam A. Khalil received his B.Sc. from the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Industrial Pharmacy, Misr University for Science and Technology in 2003, and M.Sc. (2009) and PhD (2013) in pharmaceutics from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, Egypt. 

Currently, Dr Islam is an associate professor of pharmaceutics at the College of Pharmacy and Drug Manufacturing, Misr University for Science and Technology, Egypt since 2019. Also, He is an executive board member of the Egyptian Young Academy of Science (EYAS) – Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT). 

He worked previously as a postdoctoral research fellow at an American university in Cairo (Egypt), Zewail City for Science and Technology (Egypt), Brigham and Women’s Hospital – Harvard Medical School (USA), and Northeastern University (USA). His research focuses on designing, developing, and evaluating nanomedicines for various biomedical applications, especially therapeutics and tissue regeneration. Also, he has considerable industrial research and development experience since 2014. He received several awards including Best Applied Pharmaceutical Research in 2018 from the Arab Company for Drug Industries and Medical Appliances (ACDIMA) and State Encouragement Award in Medical Sciences 2020.

 

Ibrahim Ahmed Saleh Ali Elsayed

Dr. Ibrahim is Assistant Professor in Chemistry of Medicinal Plants Department, National Research Centre, Class of 2005. During the last ten years, he has been publishing in the field of natural product chemistry. His research program has come to focus on innovation and development of medicinal and aromatic plant processing. In addition, he participated in editing and publishing the first “Egyptian Encyclopedia of Wild Medicinal Plants. 

Ahmed Mohamed Agiba

Agiba, A.M. has a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Industrial Pharmacy from Misr University for Science and Technology,  a Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Pharmaceutics from Ain Shams University (Egypt), and a Master of Science in Biotechnology from University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (Bulgaria) and University of Oviedo (Spain) with a general grade of Excellent (Erasmus Mundus Scholarship). Agiba, A.M has worked for top leading pharmaceutical industries in the Middle East, Africa, and worldwide; SIGMA Pharmaceutical Industries as a Product Development Senior Specialist at Formulation R&D, Egyptian Armed Forces Pharmaceutical Factory as a Principal Researcher, Pharco-B International; a member of Pharco Corporation, as a R&D Section Head at Formulation R&D, October Pharma as a R&D Section Head at Formulation R&D, and IDI Pharmaceutical as a R&D Acting Deputy Manager. Also, for top-ranked academic institutions in Egypt as October University and Sinai University as an Assistant Lecturer in the Pharmaceutics Department. Currently, he is working as R&D Section Head at Formulation R&D, Research and Development Directorate at Marcyrl Pharmaceutical Industries

Ebaa M. El-Hossary

Dr. Ebaa M. El-Hossary, Class of 2003. 

He was recruited for a position as a researcher pharmacist at the National Centre for Radiation Research and Technology (NCRRT) – Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority, in May 2004, where he completed his Master’s thesis in August 2007 and then subsequently his PhD work. In less than three years, he received his PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry from Cairo University in April 2010. At this time, he was the youngest PhD holder at his institute. In 2012, after a highly competitive selection process, he was chosen for the esteemed Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship and joined his collaborative research project in two institutes at the University of Wuerzburg in Germany; the Institute of Pharmacy and Food Chemistry and the Institute for Molecular Infection Biology. During his research stay in Germany as a Humboldt Fellow, he was a staff member at the international research project SFB 360 (from September 2012 until June 2015). He conducted research mainly in the development of novel drugs against infectious diseases, and the applications of nuclear and radio-chemistry in the diagnosis/treatment of infectious diseases. His research work outcome was published in different high-impact international scientific journals. 

After his return from Germany, he organized several events in cooperation with different German institutes and the United Nations, that promoted the scientific exchange between Egypt and Germany. He was funded twice by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to organize two international conferences; the German-Egyptian Network for Innovation and Development (in February 2017) and Atoms for Peace (in October 2019). He is also the contact person of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD Cairo) at the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority. He was highly praised for his outstanding work in research cooperation and scientific exchange between Egypt and Germany.

 In November 2018, his activities were selected by the “European Union-Egypt Forum” in Germany as the best practices of intercultural scientific cooperation between Egypt and Germany. Besides his research work, he worked also as a Lecturer of pharmaceutical chemistry at the Egyptian Russian University (from 2010 to 2012) and the Modern University for Technology and Information (from 2017 to 2018).

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Massa October Foundation, Dr. Mushira Al Sayegh for Community Development Founder of the October Youth Group for field work and community service. 

Winner of the Youngest Female Entrepreneur Award by Dr Nevin Gamea (Sheis Egypt) 2019. holds a diploma in strategy and national security, Nasser Higher Military Academy NS. holds a diploma in crisis and disaster management, from Nasser Academy.  She holds a diploma in preparing leaders for localities and simulating local councils, at Sadat Academy.  Attended an Intensive course in the field of anti-corruption at the National Anti-Corruption Academy of the Administrative Control Authority. Coordinator of the 46 Years of Victory initiative to celebrate the October 6 victory by honouring the mothers of the martyrs. Coordinator of the “I am a hero” initiative to raise health awareness and conclude the health of orphans, disabled and homeless children in schools.

 An active member in civil society service and visiting the elderly, orphans and people of determination. holds a diploma in international arbitration and protection of intellectual property rights in 2013. A climate ambassador for carbon literacy and support for the Sustainable Development Goals to protect the environment in 2021. She was honored at the Loyalty to Egypt Conference, among the 100 most influential figures in civil society for the year 2021.
