Introduction

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is responsible for teaching different techniques and methods that can be used in isolation, identification, diagnosis, and analyzing the microbial samples following the recent and advanced techniques.

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology in our college believes that teaching and research in the fields of microbiology and immunology are vital to improving health and safety worldwide. Through the given courses in our department, we are developing the knowledge of our students in the different fields of microbiology and immunology including, infectious diseases, inflammation, and immunity

Our aim is to educate students about the basic features of fundamental microbiology including; bacteriology, virology and mycology and to provide them with an understanding of the immune system, its role in the pathophysiology of infectious and non-infectious diseases and its protective functions. As well, to familiarize students with the common infections and diseases of medical importance, their microbial causes, as well as laboratory diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control of such diseases, besides, enabling the students to practice the principles of sterilization and infection control measures and policies.

  • Our main goal is dedicated to superiority in research with the final goal of improving human health.
  • Directing and teaching the next generation of biomedical research scientists.
  • Meeting global challenges.
  • Sharing knowledge in different fields of fundamental, molecular genetics, environmental, pharmaceutical, and applied biology of microbes, besides infection control.
  • Alignment between educational activities and research.
  • Almost all of the studies in the department are associated with laboratory and/or tutorial sessions that result in the graduation of creative, competent, and internationally competitive human resources.
