The voice of the community either internal or external on the top of priorities of the committee, consequently, the committee takes the responsibility of organizing broad community surveys which can reflect the views of the community and being the nuclei of starting to plan and organize any community service project.

The participation of students, researchers, and faculty community, in planning and organizing of any community service projects is the predominant factor for spreading awareness and establishing an effective relationship in all community scopes
The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Committee at the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Manufacturing aims to be an effective entity. The role of committee is focusing on contribution to the organization and implementation of various community service and environmental development programs aligned with community requirements throughout the effective partnership between the college and community achieved by studying the needs of community and developing measurable strategies for fulfilling
Based on the basic role of the University and the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Manufacturing in the dissemination of the culture of social solidarity between all categories either internal or external among the members of the community. It was necessary to have a plan for active community participation aims to an effective exchange between the college and society through the effective role of the different committees, each according to the specialization
“Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development”

The main objective of the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development is to serve the community and meet its needs through the following objectives:
1. Preparing practical and applied plans related to environmental and social problems and conducting studies and research that help solve social problems and improve the educational process within the Egyptian environment and society
2. Spreading sound thinking to update study systems and programs the light of the needs of society and the environment in a way that enhances the community confidence in the academic programs offered by the college
3. Stimulating, encouraging and developing the awareness of faculty members, their assistants, and students on community participation and their role in protecting the environment, enhancing their affiliation with the college and the community, and building positive attitudes towards their community and environment.
4. Maintaining the integrity of the college internal environment, protecting it from pollution and rationalizing the use of resources such as water and energy
5. Involving community parties (schools, youth and sports centers, NGOs, governmental organizations, pharmaceutical companies and factories) in the college activities
6. Working to increase the community parties satisfaction with the college activities and to build bridges of cooperation with business organizations, various institutions and charities with the college in solving the problems of the local community
7. Contributing to the preparation of consensual relations between the three sectors of the college (student affairs, postgraduate studies, and the environment).
8. Expanding the partnership channels between the college, hospitals, drug factories and pharmacy chains in order to support field training and in-service training for the teacher.
9. Expanding programs of a distinguished community nature, training courses and technical consultations, visiting their efficiency and effectiveness in serving the community, and finding solutions to the health problems facing the community
10. Marketing the services provided by the college in various fields to activate the role of the college in community service
11. Activating the college role in qualifying graduates for the labor market.
12. Maximizing the college role in serving the community in the cultural, social and environmental development fields
Initiatives
"Utilize your Home Pharmacy for the Good”
The Community Service Committees had announced the initiative within and outside the university, and effective contributions were made. Then, medications were examined to ensure their safety and distributed to charitable institutions such as Mersal and Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud Charity Association. To ensure the initiative’s sustainability, awareness campaigns have been undertaken for students and staff, along with the periodic supply of these medications to both Mersal Foundation and Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud Charity Association
"'Mothers Shape the Future' Initiative, under the Slogan 'We're with you,' in Support of Single Mothers"
Small projects were presented to support single mothers, encouraging them to participate in a handicraft exhibition. Advertisements and invitations were created, trainers for various crafts were selected, brochures were distributed, posters were made, and certificates of appreciation were awarded to the participants who secured the first positions. Schools were established to teach various crafts, opening new job opportunities for trainees.
"Give your Clothes a New Life”
The Community Service and Environmental Development Committees have collected unused clothes and distributed them to the underprivileged in several batches. This reflects their belief in serving the community, fostering solidarity among its members, adopting an optimal resource utilization policy, and avoiding the wastage of resources. This initiative, along with other events such as the Eid Carnival and garage sale, all aim towards sustainability.
"The Gratitude Initiative for the Elderly"
Several events took place during the Month of Gratitude for the Elderly, such as entertainment parties in collaboration with the Smile Maker team, health check-ups in cooperation with the College of Medicine and the College of Dentistry, and a visit to the Jasmine Palace, a home for elderly care.
